The Global Mission and Local Ministry Committee

A Gift of Joy and Thanksgiving

How many of us have come to the conclusion that we have too much “stuff’ in our personal lives and we also know that our friends and family have too much “stuff”. Yet out of tradition and habit at Christmas, birthday and other ‘high days’ we continue to give more material gifts to add to the stuff we already have.

The Global Mission and Local Ministry Committee is giving you an opportunity to simplify your life and give a gift to support FPC and also honor your family and friends on any special occasion by giving to a church program they might enjoy. The occasion may be Christmas, a birthday, Easter, the celebration of a new baby or grandchild, a thank-you for a musical offering, or just because. There are many areas of the church that can benefit from such loving gifts – the Boy Scouts, a particular missionary, a seminary student, the church library, the recipient of the monthly communion offering, and many more. Some giving opportunities are listed on the back of the certificate so that you may choose.

We have prepared a certificate which is downloadable here and is also in the Church office for members of the congregation to use. Just fill out the form with the appropriate name, occasion, the fund you wish to donate to, sign the form, and mail it or give it to your honored recipient. Then mail or drop the check off at the Church office with a note regarding the honoree and the fund.

Here are some specific funds, persons, or groups you may consider:

Suzie Frerichs
Terry/Michele Finseth
Kristin Hamner
Simon & Haejung Park
Douglas Tilton
Seminary students

Refugee resettlement fund
Theological Education Fund
Flower/radio funds
Sanctuary window project

Chapel elec system project

Kessler Scholarship
   (at the Omaha
    Presbyterian Seminary
     Foundation)
Minister’s Designation
     fund

Instructions:

  • Type in the name of the recipient, the occasion you are honoring and the Fund you wish to donate to. (The form is a fill-in form)
  • Print off the certificate (make sure your printer sees it landscape).
  • Sign the certificate.
  • Send the certificate to the recipient with your signature.
  • Send or bring to the church office your Gift with a note regarding the fund in which the monies need to be placed and used.
May this “joyful giving” honor your friends, un-encumber your lifestyle, and benefit your Church in ways too numerous to count. May God be glorified in our giving to those who need.
