Join the Senior High and Middle School Youth Groups in fighting hunger. Bring a can good, put a donation in the soup pot that day or do both. The monies raised and food items collected will go to help S.A.S.A. provide for a family or families. NOTE: Thirty years ago, Mary Helen McCormick came to a Board of Deacons meeting with a proposal of a project to help those in need in Hastings. Mary Ann Wagner Shorey and Tim Johnson were appointed to help Mary Helen bring all the churches in town together to talk about forming a community food pantry. After several positive meetings, The Hastings Food Pantry was formed. It's first home was in 2 unused classrooms in the basement with Irving Scott overseeing it and processing the orders. In honor of the churches history in forming this organization, please support the youth of our church on February 5 and help them make their challenge of raising $1000 and 1000 cans of food.
